Gary B. Carr, D.D.S.
Dr.
Gary B. Carr lives and maintains a full-time practice limited
to endodontics in San Diego, California. He is considered
by many as the "Father of Dental Microscopy."
Dr.
Carr received his Doctor of Dental Science degree from the
State University of New York at Buffalo. After serving as
a line officer and dental officer in the United States Navy,
he earned his Endodontic Certificate at the University of
Illinois at Chicago, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Carr
also holds special certification as a Diplomat of the American
Board of Endodontics and is one of the top innovators in international
endodontics.
He is the author of over thirty articles on
microscopic endodontics and is the author of both the Retreatment
and Surgery chapters in Pathways of
the Pulp. He is the inventor of ultrasonic root-end
preparation technique as well as the originator of many innovative
microsurgical retreatment techniques. Over the last ten years,
he has personally trained over 600 endodontists in microsurgical
techniques at his Foundation.
He
is presently developing a digital office software program
and digital imaging database for general practitioners and
endodontists. He is and remains one of the most sought-after
lecturers in endodontics.
Dr.
Carr is the founder and director of the Pacific Endodontic
Research Foundation in San Diego, California, consultant in
endodontics at the Veterans Administration Hospital
Medical Center in Long Beach, California, and guest lecturer
at the Tokyo Dental College in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Carr is a
course director at the Newport Oral Facial Institute in Newport
Beach, California.
