Ara Aguiar received her Associate in Science in Dental Hygiene from West Los Angeles College, Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Business Administration at Pepperdine University with a specialty in marketing.

Currently Ms. Aguiar is a full time faculty member in the department of Dental Hygiene at West Los Angeles College and a lecturer in Periodontics in the School of Dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ms. Aguiar has over 15 years of clinical practice experience in both periodontal and general dental practices. In addition to her background in dental hygiene education and clinical practice, Ms. Aguiar has experience as a dental management consultant and was Director of Marketing for the UCLA Periodontics Information Center web site. She has presented to dental hygiene and dental societies in the areas of periodontics and practice development.

Ms. Aguiar is a member of the California Dental Hygiene Educators Association, the American Dental Hygienists Association, and the Western Society of Periodontics. She is active in the Friends & Colleagues Alumni Association and has served on the Advisory Board at West Los Angeles College, Department of Dental Hygiene. Most recently Ms. Aguiar was inducted into Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society.
